Shipping personal belongings (Kinshasa)

Hi everyone. I am new to this website and glad to have found you all. There is a strong possibility that my family will be moving to Kinshasa by the end of this year from the US. I have been told that the company does not ship personal belongings to Kin because of so much corruption and problems clearing containers through customs. Has anyone shipped things to Kin? I don't need furniture but do have 3 kids, one still in a crib, so I can't imagine not having to ship a few boxes of stuff. Is this feasible, or should I really plan on selling everything we have here and starting from scratch once we get there?
