a few practical questions about Joburg (Kobe)

Hello dear expat members, I am a Turkish national and will start intensively traveling to South Africa for job related purposes. My very first destination will be Joburg, I am off next Monday. Since I have no contacts, no friends, no relatives at all, I would not mind any advice on how to make my life easy! To start with the local transport: I am supposed to conduct a market study thus I need to commute a lot. I will also have to go out of the city, to other cities say Pretoria, and even farther places within Gauteng so I really appreciate any kind of help, remark, hint etc..
