Bringing a partner on a tourist visa (Kuala Lumpur)

Hi everyone again,

My boyfriend is moving with me to KL but we are concerned that he might be asked to leave due to visa issues: I am going to be given a work visa through my company and will be working towards gaining residency by staying in the country for Protected content . However my boyfriend is planning to use a tourist visa and leave the country every 90 days for a week or so. He is self-employed (his company is located in the UK) and isn't looking to abuse the Malaysian tax system (as he will be paying UK tax for himself and his company), but does want to live with me in accommodation.

Does anyone have any bad experiences with visas or would advise against our plan? We would really like to leave marriage as a last resort!
