Car (Hire or Buy) (Kuala Lumpur)

Hi All,
I am looking for some information on cars in KL. I will be arriving on the 22nd of Jul and I am not sure if I should rent a car for the first few months or try and buy as soon as I get there. I am not looking for anything flash or pricey. I will need a car ASAP for work, so the pressure is on once I arrive as I will be starting work within two weeks of my arrival.
Any advice is much appreciated.
