Car in KL? (Kuala Lumpur)

As I'm about to make the move, I am wondering what's the best choice in KL in terms of car. I will probably not use a car to go to work, but I expect my wife we'll be happy to have one to run errands, and we'd like to have the freedom to visit Malaysia during the week ends...

So I'm wondering how much it would cost to either buy a car (typical family size car, Protected content old) or lease a car for long duration? Does anyone has experience on this?
