Dogs in Kuala Lumpur

I would like to join my husband in Kuala Lumpur (Sunway) next year, but want to know if we would be able to bring our dog. Our dog is a rather large dog, and I searched that there are beautiful kennels in the area for dogs. Just wondering though how often dogs are brought into Malaysia and whether we would have any luck whatsoever in finding rental accommodation with a large dog?
