India e-visa (Kuala Lumpur)

Just wondering if anyone (Malaysian or non Malaysian) has obtained a tourist visa for India and traveled there from Malaysia on it using the new e-visa system since it was introduced in August? The information on the Malaysian Indian High Commision website seems to suggest that you still need to go in person to their outsourcing services in Malaysia to obtain one, and when I called to inquire they confirmed this. I Just need a single entry tourist visa for one week with Goa as the port of entry. Thanks!
