Moving to KL area Help on area needed (Kuala Lumpur)

Hi Everyone, My name is Nathan and I am from Australia. I am looking at moving to KL with my wife and 4 month old son in April.

I have absolutely no idea where is good and where is shady

Can anyone shed some light on where has a nice safe and friendly community vibe?
I work away 1 month at a time so I am looking for an expat area preferably where there may be other young families so my wife and some will have social activity when I am away.

Also we would like to bring our dog so a pet friendly homes would be perffered
