Rental deposit scam (Kuala Lumpur)

Hi I am staying in a room since Sep,2018. When I moved my correspondence was with one of the housemates. I paid the deposit to the housemate.They said that they deal with rent and I have never seen the owner. Amd also they told me that i need to give 2 months notice before I wanna move out. I asked for the owner number and agreement, they are denying me both. I don wanna forgo my deposit. And also wanna move out in two months. What do I do?
