Safety in Bangkok (Kuala Lumpur)

Greetings, :)

Well I happen to have to go to Bangkok for two days for an urgent task/job & my friend's passport is still with the university so I may have to go alone because I can't delay the trip. I was wondering if it was safe for a female to go to Bangkok on her own since it'll be my first time. Any do's or don'ts?
I have traveled alone before but not quite certain about Thailand's safety yet.
