Wedding Gift (Kuala Lumpur)

Hi all,

This questions is more aimed at the local Malaysians. So here it is:

I have a friend/colleague of mine who is getting married end of this month. He is in his mid-twenties and I'm thinking of gift ideas that is more appropriate for Malaysians (he is Malay).

Generally what sort of gifts are expected in a traditional Malay culture? I didn't notice the culture of a wedding gift registry - so wondering what to buy. Is there any colour, item or something that I should avoid because it may be considered culturally insensitive or inappropriate?
