Which island in December? (Kuala Lumpur)

Hello,
I would to go on an island on the middle of December but i am not sure because the season.
I thought Langkawi but maybe it' s not a good idea.
Also, I would like to find an Island not too far to KL ( I will have juste 3 days for this break )/
Any Ideas?
