American Jew IN Kuwait? (Kuwait City)

I have been offered a week long contract for training in Kuwait by a large NGO. I am a US citizen with a Jewish surname. I am not observant, could care less about politics of Israel and do not have an Israeli endorsement in my passport. I have found little of use in a general online search and have only a day or two to respond. I will be on the phone to hear what the department of State and the Kuwaiti Embassy have to say this week- but wondered about practical experience on the ground. I have worked in heavily Muslim countries and cultures in Africa and Asia- but not yet the middle east.

Anyone have practical knowledge or experience here?
