Our client, a Global Tobacco Company, is looking to hire a Corporate Affairs & Communications Manager- West Africa

Job summary:
The CA & C Manager West Africa is responsible for implementing the region's Corporate Affairs & Communications strategy for Regulatory Monitoring, Stakeholder Engagement, Government relations, Corporate and Media Communications.

Key Competencies Required:
Regulatory Monitoring
•Anticipates and monitors developments of tobacco-control and fiscal policy developments such as excise tax.
•Pro-actively highlights issues to the Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C) Manager such that anticipated challenges are addressed in a timely manner."
Stakeholder Engagement
•Develops and maintains up to date stakeholder maps used to implement determined CAC strategies.
•Represent company at local trade, business association meetings and industry programmes.
•Ensure that J company's views and positions are well represented and protected.

Government Relations
•Active engagement with officials of relevant Ministries, Agencies & Departments (MDAs) to drive opportunities where Company’s positions and solutions can be effectively presented towards a reasonable and feasible regulatory environment.

Media and Corporate Communications
•Content development and production of Company's West Africa newsletter.
•Assists in preparing engagement tolls such as talking points, press releases, presentations, background profiles etc.
Localizing global/Regional Regulatory Initiatives
•Assists in localizing and global/regional CA&C priorities in line with developing local strategies as and when required.

Person Specification:
•Bachelor’s degree preferably in Media & Communication, Political Science, Law or Business Administration.
•Fluency in the English and French languages is a must have
•Experience in French speaking countries in West Africa is compulsory.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Intermediate Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel) is required.
•Minimum 5 years managerial experience in Public Affairs or Corporate Affairs & Communications, preferably in a regulated FMCG industry.
