Living and Working in Lagos - Any Recommendations?

Hi all

I am trying to play safe by planning around living and working in a particular area if I can, or at least no more than 45 minutes to travel, in order to avoid the crazy Lagos traffic jam I have heard so much about.

I am not familiar with Lagos at all, therefore, I would welcome any suggestions on areas in Lagos where I can focus my job and accommodation search.

Although I currently work as a Technical and Business Support Officer in a UK Council (mainly resolving complex enquiries and complaints, dealing with 3rd party claims, issuing and monitoring licenses), I am open to working in a completely new and different sector when I move to Lagos this year. I am highly adaptable, so no particular industry of interest as such, therefore type of work (to an extent) should not be a restriction in my search/in your recommendations.
