Best and safest place to live in lahore (Lahore)

I am thinking of moving to lahore and would like to know what is the best area to live in. I have heard that model town and defence are good. But are they safe guarded areas or is it just typical one security guy, letting everyone in.
I would like a 2 kanal plot with space for children to play. Any ideas?
