Christmas in Leipzig

Hey all,
a few questions since we're coming up to the christmas season!

What cool things are there to do in Leipzig at Christmas - markets, plays, concerts...?

also, there is a possibility that I may have to go away for christmas this year, and my partner couldnt come with me due to visas etc. I would feel really awful leaving him, so does anyone know of anything fun to do one christmas day? any ideas? is anyone holding a christmas party with some english speakers maybe?
