Looking forward to spending time in Leipzig soon

My wife and myself are getting ready to make the jump from Finland to Germany. A few potentials on the list are Berlin, Dresden and Leipzig ( even though we have not yet been there). We have heard a lot of good things about Leipzig but definately need to spend some time there to see if its right for us. Rumor say Leipzig is the new Berlin. So perhaps prices are lower in general. I dont speak German myself and am keen to know how I might get by. Surely I need to make an effort in learning. Thankfully my wife speaks German. Be keen to get some good tips on Leipzig, places to check etc. Thank you!
