Please tell us which are good neighbourhoods in Li (Lille)

We are an academic couple from the UK wanting to move to Lille. We have started looking for property but are not getting a clear picture for which areas are "good". Our needs are for a place in the centre or close enough by metro or by walking so we can commute to London. We also prefer areas which are quiet, not too multicultural, not suffering from social problems - but which have a close by centre with shops, cafes, parks etc: suburban with urban feel. Finally, we need an area which is attractive for student rental in case we want to take a year away.

In property search the following come up:
Capinghem,
Englos,
Ennetieres,
Fives
Fâches Thumesnil
Fleurs de Lille
Haut de Mons
Hellemmes
Lomme

Which estate agents would you recommend, or is it better just to buy using online resources?
