Cost of Living in Lilongwe

Hi,
I might be moving to Malawi this summer for a year for work (international development) and I was wondering what is the cost of living like?
Knowing the cost of living will help me immensely in my decision to move here. I am interested in knowing what is the average rent for single bedroom apartments in the city center? How much do groceries cost weekly or monthly? How much does the average meal in a restaurant cost and how is the transportation system in the city? Would I need to get a car? How much does the intra city public transportation cost?

I know these are a lot of questions but moving there is a big decision and I want to know if it will be a financially viable option for me.
