Marriage in Peru (Lima)

Hola todos,

I'm starting the process of marrying my Peruvian novia. The biggest headache I've come across so far is that I need to get a newly updated birth certificate (I'm not anticipating any drastic changes from my current 2-year-old one, but you can't be too careful), which will mean testing the Europe-to-Chiclayo postal system once again.

Has anyone been through this? Any advice? Any googlies they threw at you? Any blissful success stories to boost our confidence?
