can a dream become a reality (Limassol)

Hello everyone, I am seriously considering leaving my current life behind and making a fantastic new one in beautiful Cyprus. I have many questions that will be best answered by people who have done it. Are ex-pats made welcome in Cyprus, i have had mixed reports. Is the job situation as bad as other EU countries ? Which would be the best way to find accommodation. Would it be best to do this beforehand or dive in at the deep end, travel over and sort everything out once there. I really hope someone could find a little to time to offer any advise, no matter how small it would be very much appreciated. Am hoping i am not the only 40 something to dream a little dream, looking forward to your replies ...
