Help - Pros/Cons to Moving to Linz

Hello,
I have a potential job offering in Linz, and I am hoping to get some information to help me make the best choice on whether to take it or not.

Background:
- Born and raised in Charleston, SC USA.
- My wife and I were married in September, Protected content .
- Neither of us have any German training. Company will pay for this once the decision is made.

Would it be hard for her to find a job (she is in Human Resources now)? Get a work permit?
How difficult will it be for us not having any German skills initially?
Easy to make friends?

One of my biggest concerns is my wife leaving her career here and getting bored sitting around while I'm at work.
