Visit in September; any advice? (Lisbon)

Dear All,
I plan to visit Portugal in September and, as I haven't been there before, was hoping for some advice about how to plan a two week trip. Ideally I'd see as much as possible of the country, I was thinking roughly about something along the lines of starting the trip from Porto and working my way southwards.
