Where to live in Lisbon?

My husband and I are moving to Lisbon just before Christmas and we're lucky enough to have a relocation agent to help with our accommodation search. However, he needs us to select areas where we want to live and not knowing Lisbon that is proving to be difficult!

We're very outdoorsy people, so would like to live further towards the Western side of Lisbon within easy reach of the beach. Cascais would be ideal, but my husband will be working close to the airport and doesn't want a lengthy commute to and from work.

Is there a public transport route from Cascais to Moscavide Metro, which is the closest to where my husband will work?

We'd ideally like a house rather than an apartment and if possible close to shops, things going on and public transport.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!
