Visa Tips and Info (Liverpool)

Hi Guys,

I've joined internations to gain more input from expats in liverpool or in the UK regarding my move.

I plan to move in Liverpool to be with my boyfriend while he finishes his degree. I would need to stay just about a year until we decide where to stay more permanently.

I've looked around online and it seems like a tourist visa can be granted for just 6 months but I would need to leave the country after and I may also be granted less than 6 months.

Does anyone here know the best way to get a proper visa for my situation? Would I be able to apply for a work visa while i'm holding a tourist visa?

And would there be good job opportunities for foreigners in Liverpool? Please do let me know if you have any insights...
