Car insurance - is there a cheaper way? (London)

Hey guys,

I'm in London for just over a year now and I own a car here.

I am paying through my nose for car insurance even though I'm driving a 21 year old Golf GTI. It's in excess of GBP3,000. This is only third party fire and theft.

Does anybody here know of an insurer who specialises in expat car insurance? I am looking for a minimal legal cover and am even willing to have a very high excess/have no right to claim at all in order to get a low yearly insurance.

Any advice is appreciated.
