Invite to Social Media & Networking Event (London)

Each year the London alumni groups of The School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) of Columbia University, The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Tufts University, and Georgetown University arrange a panel presentation on a topic of high public interest both to Americans and to the international community. It is the largest event sponsored by each alumni group each year and tends to be a high prestige occasion. The London School of Economics and HULT Business School (who have Masters programmes in Digital Marketing and Social Entrepreneurship) have joined in co-hosting the event this year.

We are very excited about this year's topic and hope you will join us!

Topic: ‘The Impact of Social Media on Civic Engagement’.

Following the numerous uprisings in N. Africa and the Middle East this year it is apparent that social media is having an impact on the willingness and ability of local populations to press for greater democracy and respect from their governments, and also of the press to report what is really happening - but will it achieve any lasting or different results? Please join our panel of distinguished speakers as we explore this fascinating topic.
