Job advice for a Canadian? (London)

Hi all!

I'm looking to re-locate to London from Toronto at the end of this year/beginning of next year. I am hoping that I might be able to find a job prior to my move but interviewers do not seem too keen to interview overseas candidates.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me? Maybe agencies that help expats find jobs prior to moving? I'm a Communications Specialist/Programme Coordinator and my experience is in the charitable sector (with lots of international experience). Unfortunately after a series of rewarding but financially depleting internships, I suspect that my savings would last me approximately a week and a half (maybe two weeks if I skip breakfast) in London.

I am in the process of applying for my Portuguese citizenship so I will be able to work in the UK without having to be sponsored by an employer.
