Marriage in the UK (London)

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had information about getting married in the UK. Currently my girlfriend is on a Tier4 student visa (good for 4 years) doing her phd in the UK.
I'm an American but living in Europe at the moment and just wanted to know if it's possible for me to go to London to just get married with her? I don't plan on staying in London but would like to get married there and bring her back with me eventually to the US.

Is such a thing possible?
