Senior Economic Development Consultant
The company is a successful international business consultancy specialising in international assignments on behalf of corporate clients and public funded organisations.
They are seeking to recruit a Senior economic development consultant to join their FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) team and deliver services to their Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA) clients.
The FDI team is in charge of promoting cities, regions or countries to European companies looking to expand their business internationally. The team aim to attract these companies to the cities, regions and countries they represent.
Package includes basic salary + discretionary annual bonus, private healthcare, pension and life insurance.
The role will be based in North London .
Bsc, BA or above in marketing, economics, economic development, business /management or related subjects.
The candidate must be fluent in English, and ideally fluent in another European language.
At least 5 years experience in international sales & marketing, consultancy or economic development.
Previous experience in a client facing role, managing projects.
The candidate should have a high standard of communication (both verbally and in writing).
The candidate needs to be very at ease on the phone and needs to enjoy contact with people: a significant part of the job is spent speaking to directors of companies on the phone and face to face assessing their international strategy and promoting our clients’ services.
S/He must have a very good attention to details.
S/He must be able to summarise information obtained on the phone or by desk research in a clear way.
S/He must have experience of desk and internet research and be able to analyse the information obtained.
The candidate needs to be able to work on his/her own.
Project Management of lead generation contracts, which includes:
Being responsible for and achieving the monthly targets of number of investment leads and meetings set by the IPA clients within budget and deadline.
Liaising with IPA clients on a daily basis and meet them when they visit the UK or when invited to their country.
Planning and executing emailing and phoning campaigns to identify companies with investment projects for IPA clients across Europe and North America.
Having detailed telephone conversations or face to face meetings with the companies, to understand their requirements and the key drivers behind their expansion projects.
Liaising with IPA clients and brief them on the companies’ projects to help them prepare the relevant market information and put their best case forward in order to win the investment project.
Advising and following up the companies up until they make their investment decision.
Updating the CRM system when needed.
Managing visiting programmes for IPA clients with the organisation of meetings with companies considering an investment in clients’ regions.
Attending meetings with companies if requested by IPA clients.
Writing monthly reports, quarterly reports and annual reports, as requested by IPA clients.
