Serviced Apartment / One week short term stay (London)

Good morning London, my family of four (2 kids 7 and 8) will be in London for around a week in early February to do our "home finding" trip prior to our move from Singapore to London later next year.
Instead of staying at a hotel I was wondering whether a small Protected content apartment (serviced?) would be the more relaxed, flexible and eventually more economical solution, too.
Anybody with any recommendation / contacts / advice for me? Thanks a lot, regards, Carsten
