Telecoms Engineer (Voice / Data / CCTV)

Our Client is a dynamic company that specializes in the maintenance support, voice services, data services and equipment solutions for a wide variety of telephone systems. They are small enough for you to make a difference, but big enough to compete with the major players!

SUMMARY
To have experience with the installation and maintenance of at least two of the following systems Siemens Hipath, Avaya IP Office, Panasonic, Nitsuko DXE, Samsung, Telrad telephone systems.

A good understanding of VoIP/SIP, structured cabling, basic network troubleshooting, Door Entry / Access or CCTV installation would be advantageous.
The candidate will be required to enhance our customer's experience by always exceeding their expectations and be conversant with carrier services and cabling best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Install and Maintain voice and data / CCTV / Door Access equipment on customer's sites mainly in London & SE but also at other UK locations.
Complete documentation and follow up on all commitments and customer details.
Diagnose and carry out appropriate remedial action for reported problems and where necessary escalate customer issues to appropriate distributors and provide on-site support as required.
Reconfigure telephone systems both remotely and onsite.
Install additional sockets on structured cabling and block wiring installations.
Provide and communicate clearly field service reports.
Provide relevant product training to other team members
Research / learning about new products.
Demonstrate flexibility and an ability to learn quickly.
Other project work to be assigned as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES:
'A' Level/Higher or Equivalent
Electrical engineering and electronics knowledge is desirable
Good knowledge of Microsoft operating systems is desirable.
Minimum of one year experience in a similar position Customer focused

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Strong communication and organisation/management skills.
A flexible approach to travel and working hours is essential.
Demonstrate flexibility and an ability to developing new technical skills and learning to use new equipment.
Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team.
The ability to work some "on call" support is essential.
Valid UK Driving License.
Fluent English spoken and written is must.
