Hi, I created this thread for those that are interested in grassroots organization for better social and political change.

On Nov. 4, we witnessed the immense impact of effective community organizing. Activists built relationships on the ground and online and, for the first time in a presidential campaign, truly harnessed the power of social media to build a social movement. Join us for this public conversation as experts in civic engagement share how any organization or campaign can use those same strategies to support its social justice work and build healthy communities. A coffee and dessert networking reception will follow immediately after the event.

Communicating for Change Workshop: Targeting Audiences with New Communication ToolsThursday, December 11 at 1:30 p.m. You are also invited to participate in an in-depth training on this topic through the Center for Healthy Communities' Health ExChange Academy. This three-hour workshop will give participants a tour of new communication tools, including blogs, e-flicks and viral marketing so they can tailor their advocacy communications to specific goals and audiences.
