Moving to LA from Scotland (Los Angeles)

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for some good advice on my potential move to LA. I have 2 small kids (a toddler and a baby), wife (might not be working for a year). I wanted to understand the reasonable cost of living in LA. The idea is to understand the good overall salary. These are the main stuff I am looking to know. Housing (good family neighbourhood ), medical insurance (wife and 2 kids, I will get from my company) and cost of transportation. (car or local transport)

I understand that the cost of living is very subjective, so I am just looking an average figure.

Any help would be great.
