Luanda

Hey everyone, I will be taking up a new position in Angola in August, I will be based in Luanda not far from the Fort. I am just looking for some general tips or advice on the Luanda lifestyle, how safe is it these days? I will be with my partner, is it safe for her to walk around in the daytime? can you walk around quite freely, how is the social life? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
