Is this Love? (Lugano)

In chinese, there is this sentence: 相濡以沫不如相忘于江湖。It is a story about two fish. They love each other and live happily in a pond. One year, there is no rain for long time; then the pond is drying up day by day. The two fish hide themselves in silt at the bottom of the pond, and spit saliva to each other in order to keep wet. They must find a solution otherwise both must die.

In fact there is a river nearby, full of clear water. However when the two fish jump from the pond to the river, they cannot control the directions; which result in that they are finally in the lake but lost each other forever. At last they choose to jump into the river and forget each other.

Is this love?
