Moving Kitchen Appliances (Lugano)

Hello,

I will be moving to Lugano from the U.S. in January, and have a few questions about what to bring with me. My company will be paying to move my housegood goods, so the cost of moving items is not an issue. However, is it a good idea to bring kitchen appliances with me (microwave, toaster, blender, etc.)? I don't know whether it's better to buy electrical converters or buy new appliances in Switzerland (and hope to find cheap ones!).

Are there any items people would recommend stocking up on since prices are so high in Switzerland?
