Taiko means drum in Japanese. One of taiko's most defining aspects is its dynamic playing style. Taiko playing is loud, hard and fast. In celebration of Zambia's Golden Jubilee of Independence, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of Japan-Zambia diplomatic relations, the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation present the Japanese Drum "Taiko" Concert.
