I wanted to give you a heads up that I am adding more classes to the schedule in January! Would be great to see you there!
FIRST CLASS FREE: The beginner belly dance class held from 6:30 to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, Jan 7, is free, so bring a friend!
Take beginner belly dance classes to build flexibility and grace and learn fun combinations with Elisabeth, award-winning international Middle Eastern dance artist. Visit shimmyglisten.com for the latest class updates and special events.
Held at Shakespeare Court in Leopards Hill.
Wednesdays 6:30 to 7:30 PM (Beginner)
Wednesdays 7:30 to 8:30 PM (Technique)
50 Kwacha for drop-in class
250 Kwacha for 6-pack
Each class includes a full body warm up, learning basic technique, combinations and choreography. Each beginner class introduces a different mini choreography so you can learn how to string the moves together in different ways. Other class series build on choreography learned from week to week and may focus on certain props or skills, such as veil, balancing, baladi or floor work.
Classes are small and designed to give all women the opportunity to learn, no previous dance experience required, to shimmy and glisten in a beautiful natural setting. Improve your posture, learn a graceful dance form, strengthen your core, improve flexibility, and gain body confidence in a class with other women! What to Wear
Feel free to bring pants and a top that allows you to see your body line, and a cardigan or sweater if you get chilled easily. You can also wear a hip scarf, or anything tied around your hips to get a feel for where movement is happening on your body. There are changing rooms available at the gym a few steps away.
Classes are 50k each, and class sessions will run for six weeks, but you are welcome to drop in at any time. You can also purchase a 6-class pack for Protected content . You can pay the receptionist at the gate before class.
