The dance assocation of Artesia is hosting a series of workshops conducted by Archana.
23rd March - Bharatanatyam (South Indian Classical dance)
12th April - Kathak (North Indian Classical dance)
17th May - Indian Folk and Bollwood
Typical Program of the workshop will be as follows:
First 45 mins = Show
Performance will demonstrate the various parts of Bharatanatyam and a short preview of Indian Classical dance form of Kuchipudi.
15min = Refreshment break
Spiced Tea and Indian snacks will be served.
2hrs = Workshop
Workshop will begin with Yoga stretches to increase flexibility as Indian Classical dance involves some complex postures and movements. After some theoretical background and learning basic steps of Classical dance the workshop will end with an interactive session to enable deeper understanding of the dance form.

A mechanical engineer by education and professionally trained in Bharatanatyam and Kathak, Archana was initiated at the age of 5.
