Looking for Bank & Phone/TV Company (Madrid)

Hi everyone,
we will finally arrive in Madrid on the 2nd Dec.! I was wondering if anyone had info or could suggest a good bank and phone/tv company? I heard for a landline (home phone) you have to wait 2 weeks? Do they have a plan for international calling? How are the cell phone contracts, can you do month to month? Do you have to make a down payment? do you need a spanish social security number to open a phone or bank...? would my iphone still work or do i have to get a spanish phone?
