Moving to Madrid in August with family

Hey everyone,

We are in the planning stages of moving to Madrid in August from the U.S. (Atlanta area.) I am flying over in early May to scope out neighborhoods and hopefully schools.

I have 2 kids, ages 5 and 7, and the purpose of our move is to immerse them in Spanish life/language/culture. I'm hoping for recommendations to narrow down my search in May. Specifically, I'm hoping to find safe, friendly neighborhoods/suburbs with good schools.

Also, any tips on getting expat kids enrolled for school from afar, as well as thoughts on public vs. concertado schools would be great.

At this point, I don't know what I don't know :-) Any recommendations are welcome! Thanks
