NIE copy (Madrid)

Hi,
I hope this is an easy answer. I have a NIE from years ago but not any of the paperwork or the card. The number is still valid etc as I was employed here recently but now they are insisting I give them a copy of the NIE.
Does anyone know how you get this, who you call, what the process is etc?
