Question about renting an apartment in Madrid

What are the typical terms for renting an apartment (furnished or unfurnished) in Madrid - one month's rent plus one month security deposit? What about fees to be paid to real estate agents, etc? I'd like to get the inside scoop from someone that has actually been through the process.
