Coming to South Spain / Malagas (Málaga)

I'm currently in Paris and looking to move to South Spain, Malagas area for May, June, July.

> I'm wondering where I can begin to look for a place to stay - ideally near good beaches.
> Are there nicer places to stay rather than Malagas?
> What's the cost of living like? Dinners?
