a week of holidays in may (Malta)

hi everybody! i'll be in Malta from 17 till 24 may with a friend. we have still to book the hotel. i saw some special offers too, but comments on tripadvisor are often very different for the same building! do you have any suggestion? i think Sliema could be in a good position to go around and discover the island, is it? could you write me when you usually have the monthly meeting?and also if there are place where to dance tango or salsa or nice bars for a drink?
