This position calls for an enthusiastic and organised problem solver who is able to take initiative while working in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate must be a dedicated team player, with good interpersonal and relationship building skills. Candidates would ideally be a recently qualified accountant, have commercial acumen and have a good eye for detail, coupled with a strong academic background (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
The staff accountant’s duties will include but are not limited to: preparing monthly management accounts for the centres and head office; assisting the Management Accountant with the preparation of monthly group reporting; assisting in the analysis of all expense and revenue lines in the P&L on a monthly basis; maintaining the fixed asset system and reconcile it on a monthly basis with the general ledger; preparing monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including accruals and prepay; maintaining all general ledger accounting; assisting in generating and analysing revenue and volume reports from the IT system to support management accounts analysis and decision making; assist with the audit preparation work to allow for timely completion of the annual financial statements and corporation tax returns; assisting in the preparation of annual budget and periodic forecasts; providing ad hoc analysis, as required and travel to other branches as required.
Experience in a similar role is a must.
