Finance and Administration Assistant for a leading (Malta)
This position calls for a proactive, analytical team player who is extremely organised and able to meet tight deadlines. It is a must that candidates applying for this role are computer literate, particularly in the use of financial software, MS Excel and MS Word whilst also having proficiency in the English language. Applicants must be able to take full responsibility for the duties assigned to him/her according to his/her experience and qualifications. Candidates will possess excellent communication and organizational skills coupled with an advanced level in Accounting, and/or similar or higher qualifications. Experience in day-to-day accounting: the preparation of bank reconciliations; liaison with banks; effecting payments and dealing in foreign currencies will be considered an asset.
The Chosen candidate will be reporting to the Head of Finance and Compliance. The Finance and Administration Assistant’s duties will include but are not limited to: Accounting for client transactions in the company’s portfolio management/accounting system; performing periodic bank reconciliations for the company’s clients’ bank accounts which are held in various currencies; answering to external auditor queries that are directly related to the candidate’s duties, as may be required by the auditors; creating of periodic reports as may be required for compliance, front office and/or management accounting purposes; assisting in the checking and issuance of trade confirmations, and in preparing the necessary correspondence to be sent to clients; handling of other necessary day-to-day finance, reporting and administrative duties in an effective and timely manner whilst also assisting other staff members in any other finance-related duties as may be necessary from time to time, including assisting in the administrative duties required during large corporate advisory assignments and primary issue applications.
