This position calls for a smart, outgoing and meticulous individual with excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). The successful candidate will hold a tertiary level of education law ideally in Banking and/or Finance or an equivalent. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent computer and organisational skills, with an analytical and meticulous approach to work. Applicants must have the ability to work on their own initiative, under pressure whilst also adhering to tight deadlines.
The Risk Management and Compliance Officer will be reporting to the board of directors, and will be responsible for overseeing the overall compliance and risk management function within the company. The chosen applicant will be accountable for identifying and assessing threats to the business, employees, customers, stakeholders whilst devising adequate strategies to reduce transfer risk. Working within the financial services, the chosen applicant will be in charge of ensuring compliance with MFSA regulations and local legislations. It is required that the candidate ensures that there is an open channel of communication allowing compliance issues to be brought to light, and that appropriate resources are provided for investigation and solution – this will include periodic internal reviews and audits in relation to compliance procedures and the dissemination of policies and procedures related to the compliance across the company.
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role within the financial services industry is a must for this role.
